By Indra
A wedding is a wonderful, almost magical day to remember. To have a great picture and album to memorize those moments, usually we need a professional photographer. But if you have some experience with camera and you love photography, why not take your chance? Of course the professional knows all the technique, but here are some wedding photography tips for you who happened to have the honor of capturing the moments. After all, great pictures not necessarily come from the hand of professional. You too can create a beautiful picture, as long as you have creativity and good eye.
First photo tip; discuss with the couple what kind of shoot they prefer, portraiture or photo journalistic, how many shot they want, what poses, people and events that should be taken. Let them know your photography style and your work.
Second photo tips, ask the couple to appoint one of their friend or family member as a coordinator, so when the occasion begin with their hustle and bustle, you have a person who will help you organizing the family or friend for a photo.
Third photo tips; don’t forget to ask the couple to make a list of friend or family whom they want for photo. Therefore, when the wedding party is over, you have the pictures of the entire people that the couple wanted. If possible, take the photo of the bride and groom, their parents and their best man/bridesmaid before the ceremony begins. This will shorten the list of photo you should take after the ceremony, and make times for the couple to rejoin their guests early.
Fourth photo tips; always be prepared with your camera. That means you should bring enough batteries for back up, or charged it before the occasion. Make sure your memory card is blank so you can save many pictures. Bring extra memory card and camera if you have, just in case you need one.
Fifth wedding photography tips; know the location of the wedding will help you decide the lighting and best position to take photo during the ceremony.
Sixth photo tips, be creative and prepare for those wow moments that tends to happens during such festive mood. Try to shoot from many angles to create different perspective. Don’t forget to take 2-3 shots for each group.
Seventh photo tips; have fun, enjoy the moment, and take lots of picture. I recommend you to have a second photographer to help as a backup. Second photographer can reduce your work load and help you cover the large event.
A final wedding photography tip is practice and practice. Expert photographer in certain area such as high fashion photographer or baby photographer, gains their expertise through lots of practice. So grab that camera and start shooting!
